1. BLOOD CELLS

  • Red blood cells (erythrocytes): Red blood cells (erythrocytes) transport oxygen from the lungs to body tissues and return carbon dioxide to the lungs.

  • White blood cells (leukocytes): White blood cells (leukocytes) play a central role in the immune system by protecting the body against infections and other diseases.

  • Platelets: Platelets (thrombocytes) are essential for normal blood clotting and prevention of bleeding.

2. BLOOD DISEASES

  • Anemia : Anemia is a condition characterized by a reduced number of red blood cells or a decreased concentration of hemoglobin, resulting in impaired oxygen delivery to tissues.

  • Leukemia : Leukemia is a group of malignant disorders originating from hematopoietic cells and characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal white blood cells.

  • Lymphoma : Lymphoma is a malignancy of the lymphatic system involving abnormal proliferation of lymphocytes.

  • Hemophilia : Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder caused by deficiency of coagulation factors, resulting in impaired blood clotting.

3. DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

  • Blood Tests: Blood disorders are diagnosed through complete blood count, blood biochemistry, and specific tests.

  • Bone marrow biopsy : A method used to diagnose blood diseases.

  • Treatment Methods : Methods such as drug therapy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stem cell transplantation are used.

  • The administration of blood and blood products to patients is vital in cases of blood loss. Blood group compatibility is an important consideration before transfusion.
